What's The Deal With USB Ports Nowadays?
2005-02-11 : 1:14 a.m.

Since my birthday the relationship between my computer and myself has been, among other things, a little shaky. I'm not entirely sure what it was I did to upset the old girl but whatever it was, well...it was at least enough for me to have to replace my CD-RW drive. However, you've read of this. I fixed the problem with the USB port (thank God - it wouldn't go five seconds without an audible notice telling me something was wrong, drove Joe and myself nearly insane).

Anyfuckingway that was the least of my problems. I have this HKEY that neither Ad-Aware nor Spybot seem to know how to get rid of as well. It constantly redirects the webpage I'm looking at to "about:blank" at random times and is accompanied by several just as annoying pop-ups. God I hate the internet sometimes. I can't even check my hotmail account. Did I mention I feel like a tool for having a hotmail account? It's like the Starbucks of e-mail accounts. At least in my head anyway, somewhere in there that makes sense. And don't even get me started on my AIM, girlfriend.

And the most recent occurance (not to mention the best!) is the curious habit of my browser being redirected to a multitude of pornsites whenever I click on a link on the oh-so-distracting Facebook site. Yeah, it's porn and all, but I'll look at that on my own time, thanks. I mean honestly what kind of person sits on their comicbook reading, dorito munching ass and thinks of things to create like this?

Bastards.

What pisses me off the most is I'm not computer savvy enough to figure out how to fix the problem on my own. I really don't feel like dropping another $100 to "fix" whatever problem(s) my computer still has. But that's what friends are for. I've got three system restore and two system application disks ready and waiting for my man Chad after he's done erasing my hard drive. Oh it's gonna be sweet.

That is however a lot of backing up to do. 50 MB's of pictures, 100+ different documents, and nearly 2,000 songs (yes, 2,000) to copy. It will all be worth it though when I can finally regain control over the monster my once faithful computer has become, damn.

BD camp this weekend. Won't be in attendance. Unless of course you want to spot me the $350.00 it'll cost to go. Speaking of corps and things related...Had dinner with Erin yesterday and it made me Glassmen sick. I miss a handful of these people. I really miss both my former seat partners.
