Oh yippity bippity.

Today was what the professionals like to call a "down day." The professionals in mind would be any college student, or any student for that matter.

Today I learned that if I wish to become a teacher I will be spending not four, but five years here at Ball State University, perhaps more. I don't need this. What am I a doctor?

Get this, I need three areas of concentration, correct? Well I can (could have rather) choose from: Economics, Geography, Historical Perspectives, Government, Psychology, and Sociology.

Now all of these areas have a total of fifteen total hours in order to complete them, except for one, Historical Perspectives. That lovely concentration has twentyseven.

Twenyseven hours.

And guess which three I picked?

Geograpy, Psychology, and motherfucking Historical Perspectives.

Whose idea was that anyway?

"Hey, let's make a Ball State's student life even harder. We'll give them 42 bullshit hours of Core Classes, then we'll toss 39 hours at em' if they want to teach high school, hand them another 66 hours if they pick Historical Perspectives as one of their areas of concentration, ass-rape them with tuition costs, take away their ability to download music because of our shitty firewall, take away Google from them (Yeah, what's that about?), and to top it off we'll charge them ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY CENTS FOR A FUCKING CUP OF SLICED CANTALOUPE!"

Everything you need my ass.

So in conclusion, that's 42 + 39 + 66 = 147 hours.

Oh but wait, there's more. I also have to student teach, and who knows how long that's going to take.

On a good note, excluding all my core classes I have a 3.33 GPA for my Education Classes which includes all the History, Psychology, and Geography classes I've taken. That = Good.

The only fun part about having Historical Perspectives as an area are the History classes I get to choose from. Oh yeah, HIST 454 and 455, WWI and WWII. Dammit, a History major would have been easier, and more fun.

It's official, I'm Mr. Kern.
